Job Description
Zopa is hiring a Fraud Operations Specialist for its onboarding fraud team in London. The job identifies fraud through risk signals and triggers raised during applications, with the aim of protecting customers while keeping the process easy for legitimate applicants. It is a full-time post covering alerts and claims across every Zopa product.
Work includes handling fraud escalations from the application stage, such as document review, call monitoring and any suspicion surfaced during onboarding. The specialist also completes payment checks within service targets and examines requests to change personal details, applying updates only when every concern has been settled.
Investigations run from start to finish, including fraudulent transaction claims and Visa chargebacks where appropriate. The specialist flags first-party fraud with a documented rationale, keeps customers informed, files Cifas reports, and liaises with peer institutions and law enforcement. Senior colleagues receive support, and team members are coached on fraud questions.
The role is hybrid, requiring one day a week in the London office. Each shift is 7.5 hours long and begins no earlier than 8:00am, ending no later than 8:00pm on weekdays. Every other week, one weekend day is worked remotely, running from 9:00am until 5:30pm, with a weekday taken as time off in lieu. The posting also values careful examination of documents, the ability to prioritise under pressure, and exposure to several products.
