Wise is seeking a Fullstack Engineer for its Scam Prevention team to work on high-impact product engineering problems focused on financial crime defense. This role involves building and enhancing infrastructure to protect users globally against complex adversarial threats. The position entails designing scalable web applications and developing robust controls to secure customer funds and automate detection systems. The engineering allocation for this role is split between backend development and frontend tasks. Responsibilities
- Develop and improve financial crime prevention infrastructure and systems
- Build and refine controls to protect users from scams
- Drive backend development for scam prevention and detection systems
- Drive frontend development for scam prevention and detection systems
- Secure customer funds and increase automation levels to support product growth
Requirements
- Professional experience with Java or other JVM-based languages including the Spring framework
- Experience building and designing scalable web applications that handle large traffic volumes
- Experience with React-based frontend applications, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines as well as distributed and concurrent systems
- Ability to drive projects independently and make data-driven decisions
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases including query optimization and schema design
- Commitment to Test Driven Development and coding best practices
- Communication skills to articulate technical concepts across product, data science, and investigations teams
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle including data pipelines, feature engineering, and deploying machine learning systems into production
