CAI seeks a Global Director - General Ledger to oversee the worldwide Record-to-Report function. In this position, the professional will manage financial close cycles, maintain ledger integrity across multiple entities and countries, and govern accounting practices.
This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced finance professional with a background in multi-country controllership and technical accounting. The selected candidate will direct monthly and year-end closes, supervise journal entry governance, manage fixed asset accounting, and handle intercompany transactions. Additionally, the role involves partnering with FP&A and tax teams, strengthening internal controls, and integrating general ledgers for acquired companies.
The position requires someone capable of establishing global accounting policies, providing consolidation support, and ensuring that financial records remain complete, accurate, and timely. Responsibilities
- Manage the global Record-to-Report function, encompassing close schedules, journal entry guidelines, accruals, and intercompany accounting
- Formulate worldwide general ledger policies, account ownership protocols, reconciliation templates, and quality review procedures
- Direct the execution of monthly and annual financial closes across various countries, shared services, and local finance groups
- Regulate the chart of accounts, legal entity arrangements, cost centers, and reporting attributes
- Collaborate with FP&A to align actual financial results with management reporting and decision-making needs
- Assist tax and audit functions by delivering precise financial data, schedules, and reconciliations
- Integrate newly acquired companies by mapping ledgers, establishing opening balance sheets, and standardizing closing procedures
- Enhance controls surrounding manual journal entries, account reconciliations, recurring transactions, and close certifications
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Bring at least 8 years of experience in accounting, general ledger management, controllership, consolidations, or record-to-report operations
- Demonstrate leadership experience within a multi-entity or multi-country organizational structure
Qualifications
- Hold a professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CMA, or an equivalent credential
- Exemplify strong technical accounting knowledge regarding complex or non-routine business transactions
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems, close management software, multi-currency accounting, and internal controls
