Job Description

Canonical is hiring a Graduate Customer Success Manager to help customers get the most from its products. Customer success is a newer strategic function at the company, with the aim of reducing risk and churn, helping customers adopt new products and services, and supporting growth within existing accounts. Canonical publishes Ubuntu and describes itself as remote-first, with a global customer base.

The role is remote and can be based anywhere in the world. Although the primary focus is the technology segment, including store customers, the post also comes with a portfolio of assigned accounts. The job is described as a first step within the customer success organisation.

The Customer Success Manager builds trust with assigned customers, learns their objectives and draws on internal and external resources to resolve pain points and set a clear collaboration roadmap. Daily work includes solving customer ticket requests, onboarding new customers to products and support processes, and identifying both high-potential and high-risk users. The role also involves improving documentation such as troubleshooting guides and onboarding material, running digital campaigns for groups of customers, and working with sales and support on engagement plans. Feedback gathered from customers is organised for the product team to review.

Kubernetes, Ceph, OpenStack, MAAS, Landscape and Ubuntu Pro, plus data applications, are among the products covered. Candidates should have an empathetic, helpful approach, a real interest in technology and in Ubuntu, strong presentation and organisation skills, and the ability to work with colleagues across departments. Fluency in other languages is also welcomed, with several named in the posting, alongside strong English. No salary is stated.
