Moniepoint is seeking a Head of Engineering, Field Verification to lead the technology behind physical KYC and identity confirmation for its all-in-one financial platform. Operating in Pakistan as part of the company's expanding global footprint, the role takes charge of the core system that supports nearly every operational unit, including onboarding, lending, compliance, and fraud prevention.
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced engineer who has grown into management while maintaining cross-disciplinary technical depth across backend, web, and mobile environments. The domain currently runs on a single lean squad operating in maintenance mode, presenting a greenfield mandate to establish architecture standards, implement route and trip optimisation, build native mobile applications, and scale the infrastructure for multi-country expansion. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Java and Spring Boot, possesses extensive production engineering experience, and is capable of turning complex operational challenges into structured, auditable engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Field Verification platform
- Transition the engineering group away from maintenance mode toward structured, prioritised product development
- Lead, mentor, and expand the cross-functional engineering team, including managing Engineering Managers
- Develop operational efficiency tools, encompassing route and trip optimisation, task allocation, and capacity management
- Manage client-facing architecture, including APIs, webhooks, and the internal back-office system
- Deliver a native mobile experience for field verification officers
- Guarantee that verification data remains structured, compliant, and ready for regulatory review
- Collaborate directly with product teams and dependent business units such as onboarding, loans, compliance, and fraud
- Establish architectural standards, quality metrics, and engineering processes
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of overall software engineering experience
- Substantial hands-on production engineering background with strong depth in backend development, specifically Java and Spring Boot
- At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience, including the management of other Engineering Managers
- Cross-disciplinary capability spanning backend, web, and mobile technologies
- Track record of building platforms and systems utilized by multiple user groups and internal business units
Qualifications
- Experience working with location, geospatial data, and map integrations
- Background in route, trip, or delivery optimisation
- Experience building systems for compliance where data must be structured to track precise actions and timelines
- Prior work with identity, KYC, or verification platforms
