Moniepoint is hiring a Staff Product Designer for an on-site, full-time position. As an all-in-one financial services platform operating in emerging markets, the company has served over 3 million people since 2019 by providing business and personal banking, credit, payments, and management tools.
This role functions as a senior individual contributor position focused on driving strategic impact and design excellence across various teams rather than managing personnel. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in product design and can independently navigate extreme ambiguity while establishing clarity for peers.
Daily responsibilities involve spearheading design strategy for major cross-product initiatives, solving systemic challenges, and collaborating closely with engineering and product leaders. Candidates will also mentor mid-level and senior designers informally, contribute to design system growth, and represent the design function in organizational planning.
The hiring process consists of an application and portfolio review, an initial recruiter phone conversation, a design team interview featuring a portfolio walkthrough, a design challenge, and a final discussion with senior executives.
Responsibilities
- Lead design strategy for major product areas and cross-product initiatives
- Drive complex and ambiguous projects from discovery through launch across multiple teams
- Establish design standards, patterns, and best practices
- Identify and solve systemic design problems across products
- Collaborate with senior product and engineering leadership on strategy
- Provide informal mentorship and sponsorship to senior and mid-level designers
- Contribute significantly to design system strategy and evolution
- Represent the design function in organizational planning and cross-functional settings
- Discover and drive strategic opportunities not initially on the roadmap
Requirements
- Mastery of design tools and advanced prototyping
