Responsibilities
- Establish the technical path and reliability standards for the SRE group
- Design self-healing systems and promote observability as code and automation best practices
- Supervise, mentor, and develop senior and associate site reliability engineers
- Handle code reviews, host technical workshops, and direct major incident escalations
- Refine incident management procedures and ensure root cause analyses result in concrete engineering solutions
- Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to set service level objectives aligned with business goals
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of background in backend engineering or site reliability engineering
- At least 2 years in a senior, staff, or leadership role providing mentorship to others
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Rust
- Deep understanding of distributed systems patterns and microservices interactions
- Extensive hands-on background working with AWS or Google Cloud Platform
- Proven experience operating Kubernetes at scale and resolving complex infrastructure issues
- Demonstrated history of shaping observability frameworks and telemetry stacks for large teams
- Strong communication abilities to manage high-pressure situations calmly
