Moniepoint seeks a Staff Product Designer to shape the future of its financial services platform. Moniepoint provides payment, credit, personal banking, business banking, and management tools to millions of users across emerging markets. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end design process, champion user-centred principles, and guide junior members of the team. This position suits an experienced professional with a strategic mindset who can translate complicated financial ideas into accessible digital experiences. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product management colleagues to build scalable interface components, conduct usability research, and execute data-driven design improvements. Responsibilities
- Define and execute design strategies that address user needs and business goals
- Lead the complete design lifecycle from initial discovery and research to wireframing, prototyping, and final user interface execution
- Run advanced user research sessions, usability tests, and A/B experiments
- Partner with product managers and engineers to implement designs effectively
- Build scalable user interface components and contribute to the company design system
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design practices
- Create and refine motion elements and micro-interactions
- Apply data insights to enhance the user experience and optimize business results
- Mentor and guide junior designers
- Keep up with fintech trends and industry best practices
Requirements
- Over three years of experience in a senior product design position focusing on user experience
- Expertise in visual design, typography, grids, layout, color theory, interaction design, and information architecture
- Understanding of responsive and adaptive design for mobile and web platforms
- Familiarity with behavioral psychology principles
- Experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations
- Proficiency with UX analytics software such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Hotjar
- Knowledge of atomic design principles and scalable UI frameworks
- Experience with motion design software including Lottie, After Effects, and Principle
- Familiarity with agile product environments
- Mastery of Figma including auto layout, design tokens, component variants, interactive prototypes, and scalable libraries
- Prior experience working in fintech or software as a service environments
