Wise is seeking a Head of KYC Operations - APAC to be based on-site in Hyderabad. In this role, the candidate will lead the Know Your Customer operations organization to ensure compliance while providing rapid, high-quality service. The position focuses on maintaining cost efficiency and scalability through close collaboration with product, compliance, and risk teams. The professional chosen will direct a group of Area Leads and oversee a workforce of more than 150 employees spanning internal and outsourced multi-location setups.
The role requires establishing strategic objectives, managing budgets, tracking high-level reporting, and optimizing third-party vendor services. Success in this position is measured by key metrics including service speed, customer onboarding friction, operational cost, risk indicators, and employee engagement. The ideal person will develop comprehensive customer onboarding workflows, refine financial crime prevention procedures, and utilize data insights to enhance user onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Direct the vision and strategy for the KYC Operations function to ensure scalable, fast, and compliant processes
- Establish and refine a robust customer onboarding program integrated with proper metrics, targets, and governance systems
- Oversee and optimize third-party services and outsourced vendors within the operational model
- Partner with Risk and Compliance teams to align on risk appetites supporting business growth
- Manage a team of over 150 staff members across multiple global regions, including setting KPIs and developmental objectives
- Collaborate closely with Product teams to deliver market-leading KYC products and customer experiences
