Job Description
WRS Health is recruiting a human-centered design engineer to bridge user needs and technical delivery for its cloud electronic medical record and practice management software. The people relying on these products include physicians, clinical teams, billing staff, reception teams and patients. The listing says confusing interfaces drain clinicians' time, feed exhaustion and may put patient safety at risk, so the work carries real responsibility.
The engineer runs qualitative studies such as interviews, observational visits and surveys, creates journey maps and workflow models, and produces prototypes ranging from rough sketches to interactive versions. Usability evaluations are planned, moderated and reviewed both before and during build work. Findings are shared with product and executive leaders to shape priorities. The role also covers designing AI-assisted capabilities, including AI-driven charting, so clinicians keep control and can easily check AI output. Medication management and e-prescribing workflows fall within the safety-focused testing scope. Accessibility compliance under WCAG and Section 508, along with privacy-conscious research methods, is expected throughout.
The ideal candidate has three to six or more years in human-centered design, UX or user research, ideally in enterprise or regulated contexts, along with a relevant degree and a portfolio of end-to-end work. Experience in health IT design, a grasp of clinical workflows and familiarity with ONC Safety-Enhanced Design rules are all preferred. The position is a remote US role with set working hours. The company notes that its electronic health record was voted the top product of its kind by PC Mag.
