Job Description
This full-time, remote Incentive Compensation Systems Manager role is an individual contributor position that sits under the Senior Manager, Incentive Compensation. The person drives the automation and continuous improvement of commission operations, and takes end-to-end ownership of the systems that handle quotas, commissions and comp plan administration.
The role covers how incentive compensation data moves from the CRM, such as Salesforce, and people systems, such as Workday, through calculation engines like Xactly, to payouts and reporting in BigQuery. The manager maps current workflows, identifies manual or error-prone steps, prioritizes them by risk and business impact, and replaces spreadsheets and one-off scripts with durable, repeatable systems.
Hands-on ownership of the Xactly instances is part of the job, including configuring calculation rules and plan logic. The manager also looks for places where AI tools or LLM-driven agents could take over repetitive work, such as exception checks, reconciling data, reviewing plan documents or answering routine compensation questions.
Work is done with the Incentive Compensation Operations team, Finance and Strategy, People Operations and Revenue Operations. The posting describes a remote-first, fast-paced environment and asks for at least five years of comp operations, sales ops, RevOps or systems-improvement experience. A background at a quick-moving technology or SaaS company is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Map today's workflows for plan administration, calculation, approvals and payouts
- Design and build automations and integrations that replace manual data pulls, reconciliations and approval routing
- Configure and tune Xactly rules, plan logic and workflow settings
- Identify where AI and LLM-driven agents can handle repetitive incentive compensation tasks
- Keep data flowing cleanly between CRM, HR, finance and reporting systems
- Write documentation, standard procedures and controls for systemized processes
- Set up a repeatable cycle for finding and retiring manual work
- Support urgent requests during payout cycles while building longer-term fixes
Requirements
- At least five years in comp operations, sales ops, RevOps or a systems-improvement role
- A record of systemizing manual, broken or inefficient processes rather than only documenting them
- Working SQL skills and comfort reconciling data across systems
- Practical experience automating workflows with scripting, workflow tools or ICM platforms
- Familiarity with Salesforce, HRIS systems, BigQuery and Xactly
- Strong cross-functional communication skills
- Understanding of quotas, accelerators, SPIFFs and payout timing
Qualifications
- Experience at a scaling SaaS, cloud or open-source business
- Experience working across multiple time zones in a remote-first organization
- Experience with AI, LLM tooling or Model Context Protocol servers for incentive compensation data
