Job Description
The Internal Audit India Lead role is a full-time, on-site position in Hyderabad. It leads Wise's internal audit function in India across multiple legal entities, including Wise Payments Limited. The lead coordinates the audit process for each entity in the region and covers both global and regional processes, working with colleagues inside the company and with partner firms outside it. The team is growing quickly, and the role focuses on analytics-led audit work and ongoing monitoring.
Responsibilities include helping put the internal audit assurance framework into practice, creating ongoing monitoring and self-running audit checks, and supporting a consistent assurance model for Wise, with a focus on the APAC region. The lead oversees delivery of the audit plan, helps update the audit universe and completes risk assessment and budgeting for the annual plan. The role also tracks how teams implement internal audit recommendations, reports to oversight committees, builds relationships with the company board and the local supervisory authority, and acts as a trusted adviser to the business.
The posting seeks someone with proven experience in risk, control or assurance, ideally in technology, fintech or financial services, and with working knowledge of India or APAC regulatory frameworks. - Keep the annual audit programme on track so results arrive on time and matter
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and report to oversight committees

- Promote a strong control culture and lead assurance programmes
Requirements
- Proven experience in risk, control or assurance roles
- Working knowledge of India or APAC regulatory frameworks
- Experience evaluating controls in a regulated financial organisation
- Experience working with regulators, including the FCA
- Ability to work independently, take responsibility and make sound judgements
- Strong coordination and the ability to hold teams to deadlines and quality
- Use of data analytics and technology in decision making
- Ability to summarise key messages clearly for different audiences
Qualifications
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIA or CISA
- Track record in regulated settings, including fintech and financial services
- Experience managing collaboration projects with internal and external teams in a multinational setting
