Job Description
Canonical is hiring an Internal Auditor who reports directly to the CFO and covers several Canonical corporate entities across multiple countries. This is a chance to build the internal audit function from scratch at a profitable, fast-growing software company. The company values intellect and strategic judgement above length of service, and looks for solid academic grounding, a professional accounting credential and exposure to a complex multinational operation.
The auditor designs and owns internal audit processes that support global expansion, and builds the scaffolding for them: templates, risk registers and reporting schedules. They run the full audit cycle, from planning and walkthroughs to control testing and documentation, evaluate global policies and processes for shortfalls, and partner with process owners on scalable improvements. They also report internal audit status to the audit committee, give senior leaders insight into risk and control effectiveness, and build risk-based audit programmes that follow remediation through to closure.
The posting points to genuine interest in technology and in how it is changing the tax profession, and expects the auditor to turn that insight into a practical strategy. Remote working is possible across AMER or EMEA time zones, and London office working is an option.
