Angkas is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for backend work on a full-time, on-site basis in the Philippines, with the Manila hub as its operations center. The engineer owns a set of components, leads architecture decisions, designs Kafka event-driven systems, builds Go services, tunes Redis and defines PostgreSQL schemas. The role also includes a 24x7 on-call roster, mentoring engineers, and responsibility for the team's delivery performance.
Responsibilities
- Own a set of components and lead architecture discussions and decisions.
- Architect and optimize Kafka-based event-driven systems, and build scalable services in Go (Golang).
- Optimize Redis for performance and fault tolerance, and define PostgreSQL schemas and queries.
- Take part in the 24x7 on-call roster, mentor engineers, and own the team's delivery performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Expertise in Go (Golang), Kafka, Kubernetes, Redis and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with highly scalable, highly available systems, and strong problem-solving skills.
