Job Description
Angkas is hiring a full-stack Lead Software Engineer to lead the Back Office Engineering squad in the Philippines, on a full-time basis. The posting describes a mix of onsite and remote work from the Manila hub. The lead builds and maintains internal web platforms used by Operations, Customer Support and Risk, including admin dashboards, ride tracking and workflow tools. The role leads and coaches engineers, sets architecture and coding standards, oversees CI/CD and code reviews, and drives Agile delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers with technical direction, mentorship, coaching and performance management.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable full-stack web applications for internal operational platforms.
- Set software architecture, coding standards and engineering best practices, and oversee code reviews, testing, CI/CD and deployments.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues and drive reliability improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, software engineering or a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with 2 or more years in technical leadership or team lead roles.
- Strong full-stack development experience, plus knowledge of RESTful APIs, database design and distributed systems.
- Experience building internal operational or admin platforms, and working in Agile or Scrum teams.
Qualifications
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP or Azure, microservices and real-time systems.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills.
