Job Description
Freshworks has an opening for a Lead in Vendor Management, a role meant to strengthen the procurement department as it changes. The person builds out a vendor management practice that can grow over time, beginning with supplier onboarding, contract routing and triage of incoming sourcing requests. The scope is planned to expand toward vendor compliance, company standards, supplier financial health, risk evaluation and contract oversight, giving the lead a voice in the direction of the program.
Current work includes coordinating onboarding steps for new suppliers so they satisfy company rules, and helping internal teams and vendors move through that process smoothly. The lead handles contract routing, pushes for steady contract practices across procurement, supports business users who interact with the function, and sends each sourcing request down the right path.
Future duties are described as keeping supplier paperwork current, such as insurance proof, confidentiality agreements, diversity credentials and compliance files; tracking KPIs and SLAs by supplier tier; creating scorecards; running ongoing supplier risk reviews; preparing fallback arrangements for critical vendors; and watching renewal dates so talks begin in time. Five or more years in vendor management or procurement, along with familiarity with the complete procure-to-pay chain, is expected.
