Job Description
Bindura University of Science Education seeks qualified applicants for the position of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor within the Department of Accountancy based in Harare. This full-time, on-site role involves educating undergraduate and postgraduate students through conventional and block learning formats across a range of accounting disciplines.
The successful candidate will provide academic leadership, supervise student research projects, and drive initiatives related to teaching, research, community engagement, innovation, and industrialization. The department retains the authority to assign specific teaching courses as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction in a minimum of six undergraduate and postgraduate courses to conventional and block students
- Teach subjects including Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing, Tax Law and Practice, Public Sector Accounting, Corporate Reporting, and Forensic Accounting and Auditing
- Provide academic leadership within the Department of Accountancy
- Initiate, guide, and participate in basic and applied research activities
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research in relevant fields of specialization
- Advance university objectives through teaching, research, community service, innovation, and industrialization
Requirements
- Hold at least a Master's Degree in Accounting earned with a Merit classification
- Possess at least an upper second-class (2.1) Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field
- Demonstrate a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the university level
- Submit a detailed curriculum vitae containing a complete list of publications categorized by type
Qualifications
- Hold a PhD degree in Accountancy or a related field
- Demonstrate a proven record of academic publications
- Possess the ability to mobilize funds for the department
