In this capacity, the professional will engineer and refine biometric systems while conducting thorough fairness evaluations across diverse operating conditions. Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and implementation of computer vision systems focused on facial recognition, attributes, quality, and detection
  • Perform fairness evaluations and benchmark models across various datasets and operating conditions
  • Build, train, and optimize models utilizing TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX
  • Manage complete machine learning workflows from initial data ingestion to final deployment
  • Build automated pipelines using Airflow for data ingestion and cleaning
  • Curate balanced training sets and create synthetic data to bridge diversity and quality gaps
  • Optimize models for low-latency inference through quantization, distillation, TensorRT, or ONNX
  • Manage production deployment on AWS infrastructure
  • Mentor team members, execute design and code reviews, and promote technical standards

Requirements

  • Multiple years of industry experience in machine learning
  • Minimum of three years focused specifically on face analysis or biometrics
  • Expert proficiency in Python alongside machine learning and vision libraries such as OpenCV, Pillow, and PyTorch
  • Experience designing end-to-end machine learning pipelines from data ingestion to deployment
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestrators like Airflow
  • Hands-on background scaling training tasks on multi-GPU clusters
  • Practical experience deploying services and scaling training on AWS including SageMaker, EKS, and EC2

Qualifications

  • Research publications in conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, or FG concerning fairness, face recognition, or image quality
  • Background working with vector databases and approximate nearest neighbor search algorithms
  • Familiarity with security, privacy, and regulatory compliance standards for biometric systems
  • Experience porting models to edge or mobile devices utilizing LiteRT, TFLite, or CoreML
  • Background utilizing diffusion models or GANs to produce synthetic faces for training sets
