Job Description

Jumio is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer - IV (Fraud) to join its remote team based in India. In this full-time role, the engineer will help advance the fraud team's mission to build and improve fraud detection solutions for identity verification.

This position is suited for professionals with a strong background in deep learning and computer vision who want to impact user experience and security across various sectors like financial services, fintech, gaming, travel, and the sharing economy. Jumio operates as a business-to-business technology company focused on eliminating online financial crimes, money laundering, and identity fraud through artificial intelligence, automation, biometrics, liveness detection, and machine learning.

The chosen candidate will handle key computer vision fraud models, create production-grade Python code, and help maintain model performance in cloud environments. The position involves collaborating with product managers and fellow engineers within an Agile framework. Responsibilities

  • Develop, own, and maintain key fraudulent computer vision models that define Jumio's fraud product offerings
  • Design and implement classical computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning techniques targeted at fraud detection
  • Conduct research to support the implementation of advanced algorithms
  • Deploy models onto edge devices or as AWS SageMaker endpoints
  • Review academic literature and attend industry events to keep pace with developments in machine learning and computer vision
  • Partner with product managers and other engineers in an Agile development environment

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of commercial experience in deep learning and machine learning for candidates with a Bachelor's degree, or 2 years for those with a Master's degree
  • Training experience with deep learning models focused on synthetic data, deepfakes, or generative AI detection
  • Understanding of translating machine learning metrics into product goals
  • Hands-on development experience using Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and SKLearn
  • Demonstrated ability to apply best practices for maintaining and monitoring production machine learning models
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience working with vision-language models or large language models
  • Background working with image or video generation
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Experience collaborating within global organizations across multiple time zones
