Job Description
Twilio is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer, Level 3, for its Customer Memory team. The work is remote and based in India, in Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, or Karnataka. Twilio is a remote-first business that serves developers and companies around the world.
The team creates the machine learning base that helps apps, staff, and AI agents grasp who a customer is and how best to get in touch. The engineer runs swift research iterations on context-aware intelligence and big-data ML, designs experiments that test ideas fast, and builds services sized for Twilio's volume.
The engineer also studies LLM orchestration, retrieval methods, and data-based personalization, and adopts current AI tooling to limit repetitive engineering. Work is typically organized around short research sprints that turn into production features, and ideas move from research into live systems through rapid cycles.
Applicants should have at least five years of applied ML or AI work, real depth in production systems that use LLM orchestration, embeddings, and vector storage, and a talent for mentoring and raising team standards. Some trips for in-person meetings may be needed.

Requirements
- Five or more years of applied ML or AI work, with end-to-end ownership of ambitious systems
- Comfort working from ambiguity with a bias toward action
- Python skills
- Experience running cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure under heavy data loads, streaming, or real-time predictions, across varied data stores
- Deep expertise designing and deploying production ML and AI systems, such as LLM orchestration pipelines, embeddings, and vector databases
- Grounding in statistical ML, transformer models, and LLMs
- Capacity to lift a team's technical bar through mentoring, design review, and standards
- Communication and cooperation skills

- Background building autonomous agents for multi-turn chats with long-term context
- Background predicting user behavior, with skill in experiment design and causal inference
- Work on a globally distributed team
