This role demands a hands-on technical leader who remains close to the codebase by reviewing pull requests, conducting production debugging, writing prototypes, and shipping code directly. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a product engineering team by handling hiring, onboarding, mentorship, performance management, and direct feedback.
- Manage delivery from initial planning through release, breaking work into milestones, tracking dependencies, and surfacing risks early.
- Establish priorities alongside product, design, and engineering leadership while balancing feature releases, stability, and technical debt.
- Maintain hands-on technical involvement by reviewing pull requests, investigating production problems, writing code, and guiding architectural choices.
- Direct an AI-native team by utilizing artificial intelligence tools and agentic workflows for development, testing, triage, and reporting.
- Uphold high standards for software design, automated testing, security, and maintainability throughout the delivery cycle.
- Supervise the operational health of the assigned product area by configuring monitoring, incident response protocols, and on-call rotations.
- Collaborate across shared platform and product teams to resolve cross-functional dependencies and ensure visible progress.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software development experience creating production applications, including significant tenure as a hands-on senior engineer.
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing an engineering team.
- Active coding capability within contemporary production codebases utilizing tools such as TypeScript, Node.js, or React.
- Demonstrated history of launching customer-facing SaaS products and retaining ownership over reliability, maintenance, and user outcomes.
- Experience hiring, coaching, and supervising engineers through performance tracking and direct feedback.
- Deep technical acumen capable of driving architecture discussions and upholding strict engineering standards.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools and agentic workflows to minimize manual coordination while maintaining correctness and security.
- Daily fluency with artificial intelligence tools incorporated into personal workflows.
Qualifications
- Recent, meaningful code contributions shipped independently as a manager, such as features, bug fixes, or internal tooling.
- Experience overseeing engineers across both frontend and backend disciplines or leading initiatives across multiple technical domains.
