Natera is seeking a Manager of Data Analysis for Lab Production Support within its Data Science Production Engineering department. Operating globally in precision medicine and genomics testing, Natera focuses on cell-free DNA testing across organ health, oncology, and women’s health. This remote position involves leading an Extended-Hours Support shift team to deliver crucial data analytics services to lab operations, product management, lab directors, and genetic counselors. Candidates must commit to one of three shift team options during the hiring process: a Weekend Shift Team, an Early-Morning Shift Team, or a Late-Evening Shift Team. Team members rotate quarterly between two specific schedule rotations within their chosen shift team, with no rotation permitted between different shift teams.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the assigned shift team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Measure, report, and continually enhance the operational effectiveness of the team.
- Establish and monitor team objectives that align with broader organizational goals.
- Deliver performance assessments, constructive feedback, and career growth opportunities to staff.
- Ensure the accurate and timely resolution of data analysis tickets for production escalations.
- Train and coach team members regarding new procedures, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Represent the shift team during stakeholder meetings and proactively manage stakeholder expectations.
- Translate complex analytical outcomes into practical recommendations for cross-functional partners.
- Identify and escalate risks, such as data model modifications, that could affect project schedules or ticket turnaround times.
- Find and implement opportunities for automation and process enhancements to streamline operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of working experience within a highly regulated setting such as FDA or CLIA compliant environments.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on background in data analysis or statistical modeling within data engineering, data production, data analytics, or analytics production support positions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a team management capacity.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python development.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake platform technologies.
- Strong SQL capabilities for querying and retrieving data from complex data sources in structured formats.
- Familiarity with version control systems like GitLab or GitHub for code management and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA and FDA requirements.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic laboratory business processes and requirements.
- Experience handling production escalations, data workflows, and team operations.
- Prior experience with healthcare data and clinical terminology.
- Functional comprehension of next-generation sequencing workflows.
