This position is suited for an experienced technical leader who combines strong people management skills with deep analytical expertise. In this role, the selected candidate will act as a player-coach, guiding a team of analytics engineers and data scientists while remaining hands-on with coding and execution. Responsibilities include directing strategic analytics, managing the company net promoter score program, overseeing broader research portfolios, and building scalable artificial intelligence solutions to optimize corporate performance.
The role operates on an on-site schedule requiring five days per week at the Menlo Park, California office. The position is eligible for base pay ranging from $202,000 to $238,000 USD for Zone 1 locations, along with bonus opportunities, equity incentives, and comprehensive benefits. Candidates must possess significant professional background in data science, including prior people management experience and technical proficiency in Python, Structured Query Language, statistical analysis, and experimental design.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analytics engineers and data scientists while operating as a player-coach who stays hands-on in the code.
- Manage the Net Promoter Score program end to end, covering survey design, sampling and weighting, driver analysis, verbatims, and executive reporting.
- Oversee research portfolios such as safety perception, product sentiment, brand sentiment, trend tracking, and benchmarking.
- Build shared infrastructure to delegate recurring reporting, analysis, quality assurance, and pipelines to agentic workflows.
- Drive both rigorous data science modeling and the underlying analytics engineering foundation.
- Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, and operations teams to turn complex business questions into trustworthy analytics.
Requirements
- Bring at least seven years of professional experience in analytics, data science, or related fields.
- Have a minimum of two years of people management experience.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in Python, SQL, statistical analysis, experimentation, and advanced analytics.
- Work on-site five days per week at the Menlo Park, California office.
