Figma is seeking a Manager for Software Engineering to lead the DevEx AI Tools team. This group builds platforms, workflows, and tooling designed to enhance engineering productivity across the entire company. Their technical ecosystem relies on a three-layer platform stack encompassing workflow orchestration, cloud agents, and sandbox runtime infrastructure. The person stepping into this position will spearhead technical roadmaps, scale the engineering team, and direct the reliability and scalability of cloud agent platforms.

This position suits a technical leader with a strong foundation in distributed systems and hands-on familiarity with artificial intelligence or machine learning architectures. The incoming manager will collaborate closely with infrastructure, product engineering, security, and developer experience departments to integrate emerging AI models and establish quality evaluation frameworks. Candidates can perform this full-time role from designated United States hubs or remotely within the country.

Figma provides an annual base salary range between $258,000 and $376,000 USD, alongside equity opportunities and comprehensive health, retirement, and wellness benefits. New hires are required to attend in-person onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand an engineering team focused on building internal AI developer workflows and cloud agent systems
  • Establish the technical roadmap and strategy for AI Developer Experience, covering infrastructure, agent reliability, and workflow orchestration
  • Hire, onboard, and foster professional development for engineering staff
  • Ensure high performance, observability, scalability, and production-grade reliability for cloud agent platforms
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, product engineering, and DevEx divisions to pinpoint high-impact opportunities for AI assistance
  • Assess and incorporate new artificial intelligence tools, models, and agent frameworks
  • Design evaluation frameworks to gauge the impact, cost, and quality of agentic workflows and AI-produced code
  • Coach team members on technical leadership, career growth, and execution quality

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience managing platform, infrastructure, or developer experience engineering teams
