Figma is seeking a Manager for Software Engineering to lead the Interaction Design group. In this full-time position, you will oversee an engineering team focused on creating and maintaining runtime APIs that power animations and high-fidelity interactions across products like Slides and Prototyping. Figma builds a collaborative platform designed to help teams brainstorm, prototype, translate designs into code, and iterate with artificial intelligence. This role is suited for an experienced engineering leader who can balance people management with technical execution, helping developers build the next generation of interactive features.

You will be responsible for mapping out and executing long-term strategic plans for interactive platforms and runtimes. Responsibilities include hiring, mentoring, and managing engineering staff, as well as partnering with product leadership to define missions and priorities. While focusing heavily on leadership, you will also engage directly with complex technical problem-solving as needed. The annual base salary range spans from $258,000 to $376,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by factors such as location, market demands, skills, and prior experience. Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a long-term strategic roadmap for runtime environments, features, and platforms supporting animated and interactive experiences
  • Hire, support, manage, and develop engineering personnel, including staff-level engineers
  • Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to establish team missions, priorities, and strategies
  • Engage hands-on with technical details to resolve complex engineering challenges
