Vercel, the agentic infrastructure company helping developers transition ideas into production, seeks a Software Engineer, GTM to join the Data team. In this position, you will oversee the reliability of financial data for Vercel stakeholders, handling complex business models that combine metered usage billing, subscription tiers, and Enterprise contracts. This full-stack opportunity requires you to construct and maintain pipelines, data models, and transformations that supply the reporting, forecasting, and revenue infrastructure utilized by Finance.

Reporting directly to the engineering lead for the Data team, you will exercise complete ownership over this domain, establish technical directions, and collaborate with FP&ר, Accounting, and Revenue leaders. This role suits professionals who want their technical contributions to directly impact how leadership understands company revenue and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pipelines that ingest contract, usage, and billing data into the warehouse reliably
  • Identify and resolve source data quality and freshness issues
  • Build and maintain dbt models that convert raw data into datasets for margin, forecasting, and revenue recognition
  • Establish testing and documentation standards for data accuracy during financial reconciliations
  • Create datasets and semantic models to support leadership reports and dashboards
  • Develop self-service data solutions to minimize one-off requests
  • Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to understand data needs and evaluate technical requirements
  • Write transformation and pipeline code following strict engineering standards and conduct code reviews
  • Provide mentorship to other engineers and contribute to team technical standards

Requirements

  • Over four years of professional background in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related domain
  • Experience managing production data pipelines from end to end
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for creating testable, production-ready code
  • Practical background using dbt or a similar transformation framework
  • Familiarity with dimensional data modeling and modern ELT or ETL workflows with orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster
  • Experience handling finance data, including financial close, forecasting metrics, or usage-based billing
  • Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and convert ambiguous business goals into technical specifications
