Moniepoint seeks a Metadata & Data Lineage Specialist to establish and execute enterprise-level metadata management and data lineage frameworks. Operating as a digital financial services platform powering businesses across emerging markets, Moniepoint enables over one million businesses through payment, banking, credit, and management solutions via subsidiaries like Moniepoint MFB and TeamApt Ltd. In this on-site capacity, the chosen professional will transform metadata and lineage capabilities from theory into practical application, expanding coverage, automating collection, and ensuring reliability for critical data products, regulatory filings, and business flows. The role involves managing the DataHub platform, setting quality rules, mapping data flows across source systems and pipelines, applying privacy classifications, and driving AI-assisted discovery. Ideal candidates bring experience in data governance or architecture, strong SQL and API knowledge, and familiarity with complex data environments. The hiring process includes a recruiter phone call, a technical interview with the hiring manager, and a final combined behavioural and technical interview with an Executive team member.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve enterprise metadata, business glossaries, and ownership structures inside DataHub
- Develop, validate, and track end-to-end data lineage across pipelines, storage, and downstream consumers
- Administer DataHub, configure ingestion workflows, and automate collection using APIs
- Define metadata quality rules, key performance indicators, and execute regular gap assessments
- Apply data classification metadata matching regulatory and sensitivity standards
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Information Security teams to supply required lineage data
- Promote AI-assisted metadata tools and contribute to semantic models and knowledge graphs
- Facilitate workshops and guide data producers and consumers to boost data literacy and tool adoption
Requirements
- Three to six plus years of professional background in Metadata Management, Data Governance, Data Architecture, or Data Engineering
- Hands-on operational experience with enterprise data catalog platforms such as Solidatus, Informatica, or DataHub
- Practical background in mapping end-to-end data lineage across intricate data architectures
- Familiarity with modern data architectures including Medallion, Data Mesh, Data Vault 2.0, data warehouses, lakes, and cloud platforms
- Proficiency with technical and business metadata, domain definitions, and data classification
- Experience utilizing relational databases along with a solid understanding of SQL and database structures
- Working knowledge of APIs, ETL and ELT pipelines, and automated metadata integration
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Information Systems, Library or Information Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Background working in financial services, fintech, payments, banking, or other highly regulated environments
- Familiarity with AI-assisted metadata tools, semantic modeling, ontologies, and knowledge graphs
- Professional certification in Data Management or Architecture like DAMA CDMP, CIMP, DCAM, or related platform credentials
