The company is currently looking for a Model Validation Senior Manager to join its second line of defense Model Oversight team. In this remote-eligible role within the United Kingdom, the successful candidate will lead oversight for Generative AI models and use cases, particularly those developed across operational squads.
The position involves embedding the Model Risk Framework for Generative AI, collaborating with first-line teams to strengthen policies and system designs, and establishing validation methods and technical assets. The senior manager will independently execute operational model validations, monitor ongoing model performance against risk thresholds, and champion model risk management best practices across the organization. This opportunity suits an analytical professional with a strong data science or machine learning background who can translate technical insights into structured validation standards and foster cross-functional risk awareness.
Responsibilities
- Drive the integration of the Model Risk Framework for Generative AI use cases throughout the business
- Partner with first line of defense teams to enhance policies, procedures, and governance for Generative AI systems
- Establish and maintain Generative AI validation methods, evidence criteria, and reusable technical assets
- Translate modelling experience into controlled playbooks, working examples, and tests for validation standards
- Coach colleagues on Generative AI validation methodologies to broaden organizational expertise
- Perform and oversee independent model validations of new and existing operational models and Generative AI applications
- Review ongoing model performance monitoring to verify compliance with risk thresholds
- Contribute to the Model Risk Oversight Committee and promote a strong internal risk culture
Requirements
- Demonstrated data science or machine learning background backed by strong Python capabilities
- Experience designing Generative AI evaluation frameworks, architectures, methods, tooling, and platform alignment
- Familiarity with Gemini implementations and change assessment
- Experience managing a modelling project through its entire lifecycle
Qualifications
- Experience in coaching and standard setting
- Familiarity with banking model risk management and regulatory context
