In this remote position, the professional will coordinate patient home nutrition therapy by working alongside patients, caregivers, physicians, case managers, pharmacists, outpatient dietitians, and vendor representatives. The role involves evaluating enteral and parenteral prescriptions, conducting outbound patient follow-up calls, reviewing clinical records to establish medical necessity for insurance payers, and creating individualized care plans. The schedule typically runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, with remote training provided. Candidates must reside in the Eastern Time Zone and be available to support patients in eastern states. A telephonic on-call rotation of approximately one week every nine weeks is required for evening and weekend patient inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Assess and customize enteral and parenteral prescriptions for individual patients
- Conduct outbound telephone calls to perform ongoing status assessments and patient education
- Examine medical documentation to facilitate onboarding for newly referred clients
- Analyze clinical records to support medical necessity and qualification for Medicare and commercial insurance
- Design patient-specific care plans alongside internal and external medical professionals
- Collaborate with sales personnel to build customer relationships and act as a content expert
- Respond to incoming telephone calls from patients, caregivers, and pharmacy disciplines to answer inquiries
Requirements
- Current registration by the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
- Valid Registered Dietitian license in the state of employment, with potential multi-state licensure requirements
- At least two years of clinical experience in enteral nutrition support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to participate in the on-call rotation schedule
- Capacity to hard-wire into an internet connection

- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician credential
- Infusion work background
- Familiarity with Parenteral and Enteral Formulas across various manufacturers
- Bachelor degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or an allied field
