Job Description
This on-site, full-time platform engineering role is based in the United States. The engineer develops and maintains the application hosting infrastructure that runs on Kubernetes in Google Cloud, which supports the company's internal applications. The team is small and focused, with automation and security given high priority, and the posting describes an AI-forward environment.
Much of the work is infrastructure design and automation. The engineer designs scalable solutions for core applications, applies infrastructure as code to streamline processes, and monitors system performance to optimize resources. Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and fast, dependable build systems is also part of the role, so that applications ship at the speed the business needs.
Security and cost are equally important. The engineer helps meet security regulations and best practices, works with the information security team on incident response and CVE remediation, and reviews cloud spending. Governance rules for cloud spending sit within the remit too, along with finding savings and removing unused resources after reviewing application usage.
The role also supports the internal users of the platform. That includes gathering requirements from cross-functional teams, giving technical guidance, and running knowledge-sharing sessions to teach platform features and good practice.
