Moniepoint Inc. seeks a Product Design Lead for its design system team to build and maintain scalable user interface foundations across multiple platforms and products. Operating as a fully remote entity since 2019, Moniepoint serves ten million individuals and businesses as a major financial ecosystem and merchant acquirer in Nigeria, processing significant monthly transaction volumes. In this position, the professional will govern component libraries, manage design tokens, and bridge the gap between design and engineering teams to ensure uniform visual and interactive standards.
This opportunity is well-suited for a systems-thinking designer with extensive background in developing production-ready design systems, cross-platform knowledge across Web, iOS, and Android, and familiarity with component-driven frameworks like React and Flutter. The selected lead will handle Figma library architecture, establish interaction and motion behaviors, and formulate comprehensive usage documentation. Candidates will participate in a multi-stage hiring process that includes portfolio review, recruiter screening, senior leadership discussions, a design leadership challenge, and an executive conversation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain strict visual standards across layout, typography, colour, spacing, and digital finish for all reusable items
- Build and sustain component libraries including buttons, inputs, cards, forms, and tables that scale across products
- Establish interactive behaviors and state transitions such as hover, focus, loading, and mobile functionality
- Organize and update design tokens for colours, typography, and spacing to maintain consistency between code and design environments
- Structure Figma variants, properties, and components to help product designers build efficiently
- Collaborate with developers to address technical constraints across Web, Android, iOS, React, and Flutter environments
- Produce detailed usage guidelines and documentation outlining component rules and best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems
- Deep understanding of platform constraints and guidelines for Web, iOS, and Android
- A portfolio demonstrating systems-thinking and how design decisions impact multiple products and workflows
- Familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and consume components in code repositories
- Advanced proficiency in Figma libraries, auto-layout, variables, and components
- Strong grasp of accessibility standards including WCAG and inclusive design principles
- Knowledge of component-driven frameworks and Atomic Design methodology
