Job Description
Ebury is looking for a Product Designer to shape client-facing digital products from its London office. The role is hybrid, with four days in the office and one day working from home each week. The grade may be Level 3 or Level 4, depending on how autonomy, product judgement and scope come across in interviews.
The designer will take end-to-end ownership of a critical set of client flows across web and digital channels. That covers work from prioritisation and early concepts through detailed design, partnership with engineering during build, and launch. Designs must hold up on every device, OS and screen width. The work also involves simplifying complex systems, creating polished interactions and visual finish, and prototyping and testing quickly with research and data. The posting encourages use of AI-assisted prototyping tools but expects the designer to critically assess what they produce. The role includes extending Ebury's design system and contributing to design critiques and workshops.
The posting suits an experienced UX or product designer whose portfolio shows strong craft across layout, type, hierarchy and interactions. Experience shipping digital products, especially responsive web, and designing adaptive layouts and component-based systems is needed. Strong product thinking is important, along with the judgement to weigh what clients need against business goals and what is technically feasible. Fintech or similarly regulated, data-heavy product experience is strongly preferred. Ebury puts more weight on curiosity and problem-solving than on mastery of one tool.
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of the most important client flows across web and digital channels
- Design for several platforms so work holds up on every device, OS and screen width
- Work with product, engineering, data and ops colleagues to set priorities and align on direction
- Make tangled systems simpler, starting from what clients need and how the whole system behaves
- Prototype, test and iterate using research and data, with partners to define success metrics
- Extend the design system with reusable parts that let teams move quickly and stay consistent
- Work side by side with engineers during build so launches are polished
Requirements
- Relevant UX or product design experience, judged against Level 3 or Level 4 expectations
- A portfolio showing visual craft and product instincts across layout, type, hierarchy and interactions
- Track record of launching digital products, preferably for responsive web and several other surfaces
- Experience with flexible layouts, reusable component libraries and interaction patterns tuned to each platform
- Strong product thinking and data-informed trade-off decisions
- Proven collaboration across design, product and engineering
- Organised, able to juggle several projects in a quick-moving setting
Qualifications
- Fintech background, or work on other regulated, data-dense products, is strongly preferred
- Comfort exploring prototypes, code and data when they help solve a problem
