Job Description
Monzo operates as a digital bank in the United Kingdom, providing a range of personal and business accounts, savings products, investments, and credit cards with a mission to simplify financial management. The organization is currently seeking a Product Manager for its Finance Infrastructure squad within the Payments Platform area. This position focuses on building foundational financial systems, such as ledgers, data controls, reporting mechanisms, and reconciliation tools that allow the bank to operate safely, scale efficiently, and expand into new markets. The role suits an individual who enjoys handling complex technical infrastructure and backend systems rather than direct consumer-facing features. Responsibilities involve partnering with engineering, finance, and operations teams to translate regulatory and accounting needs into scalable platform capabilities. Candidates should possess experience managing technical, platform, or financial systems, along with the technical depth required to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. Monzo is committed to maintaining a diverse workplace and encourages applicants to apply even if they do not meet every listed criterion.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the roadmap for Finance Infrastructure within the Payments Platform area.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and payments leaders to identify current and future financial system requirements.
- Convert complex finance, accounting, operational, and regulatory demands into scalable platform features.
- Prioritize competing stakeholder needs while balancing urgent delivery goals with long-term system health.
- Create financial infrastructure capable of supporting multiple products, legal entities, countries, currencies, and regulatory frameworks.

Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a product manager owning complex technical, platform, infrastructure, or financial systems.
- Sufficient technical depth to collaborate credibly with engineers and evaluate systems, trade-offs, dependencies, and architecture.
- Interest in foundational infrastructure elements like ledgers, reconciliation, financial data, controls, reporting, and backend systems.
- Ability to work with senior and cross-functional stakeholders across finance, engineering, product, and operations.
- Skill in applying product thinking within ambiguous environments and transitioning teams from request-led delivery to long-term strategy.
