Job Description
Salla is hiring a Product Manager to own the storefront experience, which covers search, the product page and customer reviews. Every store on the platform runs through a single storefront, so any change this person ships reaches thousands of shops at once and influences how shoppers find, assess and trust what they buy.
The PM takes these surfaces from initial discovery through repeated iteration and links each one to conversion for buyers and sales for merchants. Working alongside data science and AI groups, the role covers ranking, query interpretation and meaning-based search, runs research and experiments with real users, and decides what launches, to which shops and how success is measured. Rollouts are phased and guarded, with a dependable rollback path. Simplicity is valued: removing scope before adding more.
The posting asks for four to six years in product management, ideally on search, discovery, product detail pages, conversion or another customer-facing consumer product. Deep familiarity with Arabic search habits is central, including spelling variations, dialects, transliteration and mixed Arabic and English queries. Fluent Arabic and English are required, and experience building something from nothing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of search, product detail pages and reviews, from first idea to repeated iteration
- Learn how shoppers across very different shops decide, hesitate or leave
- Work with the data and AI groups on how results are ranked, how queries are read, and meaning-based search
- Shape the product page around what a buyer must see and confirm before purchasing
- Design reviews that shoppers rely on and sellers can act on, including for shops with few or no reviews
- Run ongoing discovery with buyers and merchants, testing prototypes before engineering commits
- Set the metrics for each surface and study the funnel directly
Requirements
- Four to six years in product management, preferably on search, discovery, product pages or conversion
- Documented results on product metrics, with clear explanations of what moved and why
- An AI-first approach, using AI tools for analysis, prototypes and research
- Close collaboration with DS and ML staff on search, ranking or recommendation systems
- Practical user research and experimentation
- Strong grasp of Arabic search, including spelling variants, dialects, transliteration and mixed-language queries
- Ability to work independently and move quickly in a demanding setting
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
Qualifications
- Experience creating something new from zero to one, such as a product, feature or company, as a founder or early member
