Job Description
Motive is hiring a Red Team Security Engineer for its Product Security Team. The engineer is the principal security contact for software and engineering groups, assessing security across the organization. Motive's platform serves operators in transportation, logistics, construction, energy and the public sector.
The work centers on planning and running red team exercises, adversary simulations and targeted assessments in cloud environments. The engineer reviews cloud infrastructure, identity designs, CI/CD pipelines, containers and cloud-native services. Attack paths involving identity misconfigurations, excessive privileges, exposed secrets, metadata abuse and risky automation are identified and confirmed.
The engineer also tests whether monitoring, logging, alerting and incident response detect and handle attacks, collaborating with defenders and detection engineers. Support for remediation and continuous tracking of new attacker methods and cloud exploitation trends are part of the role.
Five-plus years of attack-focused work, such as red teaming, pentesting or detection validation, is required. Familiarity with how adversaries operate, mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, is expected. The engineer must write concise, actionable reports and explain technical risks clearly to varied audiences.
