Job Description
This full-time, on-site Regional Vice President role is based in Austin and leads the mid-market general business team at Elastic. Elastic sells search, security and observability technology, and this position is responsible for a high-potential segment of the business. The leader is expected to drive growth from existing and new customers by building a go-to-market approach that the team can repeat and scale. The ideal candidate is an accomplished sales leader with experience running mid-market teams who wants to help users solve hard problems with search.
Day to day, the Regional Vice President leads a group of mid-market Account Executives toward their bookings targets. The leader builds deep knowledge of the platform, product messaging, the partner network and competitors, and takes ownership of sales plans, pay structures and customer segmentation. Quota attainment is a core responsibility, and the leader sets the example by applying Elastic's sales methodology personally. The role also involves nurturing openness, creative thinking, collaboration and continuous improvement, and forming relationships with open source contributors and partner contacts. Regular travel supports deal creation, deal closure and the team's wider management needs. The leader also works with other Elastic leaders to keep the customer experience consistent.
Candidates should have a proven history of leading mid-market sales teams and developing a sales strategy that can be repeated and scaled. Analytical strength, decisions grounded in data and experience building sales processes are expected. The person should be able to work in a quick-moving, technical client acquisition environment, have a steady record of helping teams beat quotas, and bring SaaS sales leadership experience and an entrepreneurial outlook. Exposure to open source business models is a bonus. The typical starting base range is 135,900 to 215,100 USD, the target variable range is 90,600 to 143,300 USD, and the on-target earnings range is 226,500 to 358,300 USD, in a 60/40 split of base and variable pay. Benefits include an employer 401k matching of one dollar for every dollar contributed, up to 6 percent of eligible earnings, and eligibility for the stock program.
