Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly revenue close activities, which includes drafting and auditing journal entries for subscription, professional services, and usage-based revenue streams under ASC 606
- Conduct and examine standalone selling price analyses while supervising the allocation methodology for multi-element agreements
- Assess non-standard customer contracts in coordination with Legal and Contract Operations to document technical accounting positions
- Collaborate with Billing and Order-to-Cash teams to maintain data integrity across platforms like NetSuite, Salesforce, Nue, and Zuora
- Verify the correct recognition of revenue and expenses connected to partner agreements
- Act as the primary contact for revenue-related inquiries and PBC requests during external audits
- Enhance process automation, internal controls, and overall revenue accounting workflows
- Contribute to the drafting of financial statement disclosures related to revenue
- Maintain and update the company Revenue Recognition Policy to address changing business models and deal structures
- Supervise intercompany revenue sharing and bundled sales
- Design and deliver revenue recognition training sessions for Sales and other internal departments
- Monitor partner project revenue sharing and related invoices
- Collaborate with the Finance group on special projects, system implementations, and strategic initiatives
Requirements
- Hold eight or more years of progressive accounting experience
- Bring at least two years of dedicated revenue accounting background gained within a technology or SaaS organization
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of ASC 606 application to complex SaaS contract structures
- Possess proficiency using NetSuite or an equivalent ERP system
- Show a proven ability to author technical accounting memos and communicate findings to auditors
- Display strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and knowledge of internal controls
Qualifications
- Earned a Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Possess a valid CPA designation
- Acquired public accounting experience specifically within the software or technology industry
- Demonstrate familiarity with Zuora, Salesforce CPQ, or comparable billing platforms
