The organization is currently hiring an RMA Systems Engineer on a full-time, remote basis to investigate and resolve sophisticated hardware faults and system-level failures within its infrastructure platform. This position entails analyzing failure patterns affecting GPU, CPU, and server hardware, establishing remediation plans, and enhancing overall hardware lifecycle management and vendor collaboration.
This individual will perform deep technical analysis using system logs, performance metrics, and firmware data to isolate root causes and validate system stability prior to production deployment. The role suits professionals with extensive data center background, hands-on exposure to advanced GPU technologies, and expertise in navigating vendor support processes. Compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 per year, supported by an extensive benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Investigate CPU and GPU hardware breakdowns through the review of workload interactions, firmware performance, and system logs
- Execute complex troubleshooting across firmware, operating system, and hardware layers to confirm faults and establish remediation steps
- Act as the technical point of contact for hardware vendors by sharing diagnostic findings and guiding resolution strategies
- Plan and oversee on-site hardware repairs or replacements based on priority and system impact
- Review software and firmware releases to detect compatibility risks or contributors to system failures
- Test and verify system readiness and stability before returning infrastructure to production
- Track recurring failure trends to suggest enhancements for hardware lifecycle management and RMA procedures
- Build and maintain thorough technical documentation covering troubleshooting steps, failure analyses, and resolution outcomes
- Update and manage technical case records inside vendor portals with accurate diagnostic information
Requirements
- Experience tracking and managing technical issues and RMA cases using Jira
- Background in troubleshooting complex hardware and system failures in data center or infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with RMA workflows, hardware lifecycle support, or infrastructure operations
- Practical experience with AMD and/or NVIDIA GPU technologies
- Proficiency in evaluating performance metrics, system logs, and firmware behavior to isolate root causes
- Experience managing technical support cases and collaborating with hardware vendors
- Solid understanding of data center operations, server hardware, and system architecture
- Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and vendor support portals
- Experience operating within distributed infrastructure or microcloud environments
