The Section Manager for Instrumentation oversees the operations infrastructure for ICP-OES, AAS, ICP-MS and the related preparation laboratories at SGS. The role plans resources and technical requirements, manages customer complaints and claims, drives method development within the accredited scope, and controls costs. It also covers SANAS matters, daily production targets and leading the laboratory team. Responsibilities
- Plan operational requirements and production and quality objectives for instrumentation sections
- Manage complaints and claims and liaise with clients on technical matters
- Drive method development and continuous improvement within the accredited scope
- Lead, coach and develop the operating team and set daily production targets
Requirements
- extensive post-graduate experience in analytical chemistry, including ICP-OES, ICP-MS and AAS
- Experience managing a section
- Able to coordinate and motivate a team and make decisions under pressure
- Fluent English
Qualifications
- National Higher Diploma or National Diploma in analytical chemistry
