Job Description

Mercury operates as a financial technology company that is not an FDIC-insured bank, with banking services provided through Column N.A. and Choice Financial Group, Members FDIC. The company is currently expanding its capital products and seeks a Senior Account Executive for Credit & Lending Products to handle remote sales operations. This position focuses on selling working capital products, including term loans and rolling lines, to mid-market brands generating between $20 million and $500 million in annual revenue, starting with high-quality ecommerce brands. The ideal professional is a proven lending closer capable of building self-sourced pipelines, managing extended deal cycles, and coordinating internal teams across underwriting and executive leadership.

The role involves working directly with founders and finance departments to analyze cash flow and capital requirements, translating those evaluations into sound credit proposals. Candidates must navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deals that involve external banking relationships and internal consensus-building. Total rewards for the position include base salary, equity through stock options or RSUs, and benefits, with compensation determined by factors such as experience, expertise, internal equity, and geographic location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete sales lifecycle from self-sourced pipeline creation to closing working capital products like term loans and rolling lines
  • Target high-growth enterprises generating annual revenues between $20 million and $500 million
  • Build and sustain a robust sales pipeline using self-prospecting, outbound outreach, and strategic networking
  • Conduct thorough discovery sessions regarding business growth, cash flow patterns, and capital needs
  • Collaborate with underwriting to formulate compelling and credit-sound offers for complex transactions
  • Build internal consensus across leadership and underwriting to advance deals without compromising credit standards
  • Direct lengthy sales cycles involving founders, chief financial officers, and existing lenders or banking partners
  • Negotiate transaction terms that balance growth goals with credit discipline for both the enterprise and Mercury
  • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities into additional Mercury offerings such as banking, credit cards, and treasury
  • Provide market and customer feedback to influence how working capital is underwritten and priced over time

Requirements

  • Possess at least three years of quota-carrying, closing experience selling credit, lending, or capital products at a fintech lender, bank commercial lending group, or similar working-capital provider
  • Demonstrate a history of closing transactions with businesses generating tens or hundreds of millions in revenue, specifically within ecommerce or related sectors
  • Exhibit fluency in credit fundamentals including cash flow, underwriting considerations, and deal structuring
  • Show experience managing complex sales cycles that demand internal alignment across underwriting, credit committees, and leadership
  • Prove the ability to self-source pipeline volume through outbound tactics, networking, and relationship management
