Deloitte is seeking a Senior Accountant for General Ledger to support its Enabling Areas by driving financial excellence and providing strategic insights. This professional will guide budget and forecast analyses, manage financial closing processes, and collaborate with leadership to support business decisions. The position involves handling high-value profit and loss portfolios and building strong internal relationships.
Key duties encompass conducting general ledger account reviews, reallocating revenue and expenses, resolving system allocation issues, and performing profit and loss variance investigations. The role also requires executing month-end and year-end closing activities, computing material accruals, managing cost schedules, and communicating financial results to key stakeholders. Additionally, the individual will handle budgeting and forecasting, support SAC data validation, resolve technical accounting matters, and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities including accrual and cost allocation calculations
- Analyze general ledger accounts and recommend corrections for accuracy
- Manage revenue and expense reallocations across cost centers and general ledger accounts
- Investigate profit and loss variances and escalate material issues
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, designing and maintaining tracking templates
- Oversee debtor queries, tax pack submissions, and travel expense recoveries
- Mentor and coach junior finance staff members
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in finance
- Degree with Honors in Finance or Accounting
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in finance
- Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting
