Dandy is a technology company developing an operating system for dental offices to simplify and modernize the dental industry. The organization is hiring a remote Senior Accountant based in Mexico to oversee core components of the monthly and yearly close processes. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this individual will join a dedicated team supporting two United States manufacturing labs, multiple international entities, and increasing transaction volumes.
The person in this role will handle prepaid and accrued expenses, operating expense coding, intercompany transactions, consolidations, and general ledger maintenance. This position is suited for a self-motivated professional with an operational mindset who can navigate complex accounting workflows, establish controls, and partner with upstream departments such as Operations, Procurement, People, and FP&A to resolve process gaps.
Responsibilities
- Manage schedules for prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and operational expenditures including software, professional fees, and contractor costs
- Generate and input journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles with documentation for allocations, estimates, and accruals
- Record intercompany transactions and assist with consolidation across domestic and global entities
- Collaborate with the tax department on quarterly transfer pricing entries
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances prior to closing periods
- Develop flux analyses and present monthly financial outcomes to the Assistant Controller and FP&A team
- Investigate coding errors back to origin systems like purchasing, billing, and payroll, collaborating with system owners for correction
- Maintain documentation for processes, internal controls, and accounting policies to prepare for annual audits
- Compile audit support documentation and address inquiries from auditors
- Streamline and automate manual closing procedures within NetSuite and related software platforms
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Senior Accountant, or five or more years of progressive accounting background
- Background working within an operational business such as manufacturing, distribution, multi-site operations, healthcare services, or logistics
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with the capability to manage large datasets
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve root causes in upstream operational workflows
- Professional written and verbal communication skills suitable for financial and non-financial audiences
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, cost, or inventory accounting
- Background in multi-currency and multi-entity accounting
- Prior experience utilizing NetSuite
- Public accounting or audit background
- CPA or working toward CPA certification
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Looker
