Job Description
Later operates as an influencer marketing software company that combines data, analytics, and managed campaigns across multiple business lines including Later Influence, Later Social, and Mavely. The organization is currently hiring a Senior AI Automation Engineer to work remotely on a full-time basis. This position operates across multiple internal departments such as Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success to eliminate manual workflows by deploying durable, AI-driven tools.
This role suits an engineer who enjoys functioning as an internal consultant and coach, balancing rapid prototyping with scalable system design. The successful candidate will collaborate directly with senior leadership, bridging the gap between technical execution and non-technical enablement. Daily responsibilities involve discovering operational bottlenecks, constructing functional versions rapidly, hardening prototypes for production use, and helping colleagues build their own automation solutions safely and effectively.
Later relies on market-based compensation strategies and evaluates compensation twice a year based on performance, geography, and role scope. Permanent employees can participate in company benefit plans, and the position offers exposure to broad company operations while establishing long-term automation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders across Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success to analyze existing workflows and identify automation opportunities.
- Develop internal tools and automated systems utilizing AI platforms, APIs, scripts, and no-code or low-code frameworks.
- Upgrade initial prototypes into production-ready solutions featuring proper error handling, monitoring, and observability.
- Advise and coach non-technical colleagues on building independent workflows through workshops, documentation, and office hours.
- Create reusable frameworks, templates, prompt libraries, and integration components to scale automation capabilities organization-wide.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building and launching internal tools, automated workflows, or AI-powered systems that generated measurable business results.
- Proficiency with contemporary AI tools including large language models, agents, retrieval-augmented generation patterns, and prompt engineering.
- Capability to connect APIs, scripts, and low-code or no-code platforms effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical trade-offs to non-technical teams.
Qualifications
- Prior background working within applied artificial intelligence, internal tooling, Business Operations, or Revenue Operations functions.
- Experience training, supporting, or mentoring citizen developers and operational teams in building their own tooling.

Benefits
- Eligibility to participate in various benefit plans offered to permanent team members.
- Bi-annual compensation reviews incorporating performance and market factors.
