Fleetio seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer to join its data and analytics team on a remote basis. Fleetio offers a modern software platform utilized globally for managing fleet operations, having raised $450 million in Series D funding in March 2025 and serving as a founding member of the Rails Foundation.

This position is suited for professionals with a background in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, or analytics. The ideal candidate can connect technical approaches to business value, navigate ambiguity, and guide initiatives from conception through adoption.

As the data organization grows, the focus will span analytics, data science, artificial intelligence, and data activation. Responsibilities include building production-grade data models in dbt, enhancing semantic layers, designing dashboards, and prototyping tools like AI agents to improve data accessibility across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and propose high-value opportunities where automation, analytics, and data can enhance business results.
  • Manage projects through their complete lifecycle, from initial problem definition to execution, adoption, and impact measurement.
  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders to understand objectives, question assumptions, and shape solutions for complex problems.
  • Develop scalable, production-quality data models utilizing dbt.
  • Design reusable data foundations and semantic-layer capabilities to support business intelligence, operational workflows, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Enhance data consistency, quality, and usability via robust modeling, documentation, testing, and metric governance.
  • Contribute to raising the team's analytical and technical standards through thoughtful design and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Possess 5 to 7 years of experience solving complex business problems using data within analytics engineering, data science, data engineering, or similar roles.
  • Demonstrate a track record of independently identifying opportunities and managing projects from inception to delivery and adoption.
  • Bring experience partnering directly with business stakeholders and influencing solution approaches.
  • Display advanced SQL capabilities alongside proficiency in Python.
  • Have extensive background with dbt and Snowflake for building clean, reusable data models supporting self-service analytics.
  • Show experience governing and creating dashboards inside business intelligence platforms.
  • Demonstrate experience designing or working with semantic layers and governed metric definitions.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with machine learning and predictive modeling concepts.
  • Experience utilizing reverse ETL and data activation.
  • Experience with front-end development and the creation of user-facing applications.
