Toptal is hiring a remote Senior Analytics Engineer / BI Lead for Channel Insights (iX360) on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for designing the semantic layer, developing dashboards, and delivering verified insights to executive leadership.
The person in this role will own metrics, dimensions, refresh service-level agreements, and dashboard logic. Rather than managing a ticket queue for reports, the analytics lead takes total ownership of the analytics layer and ensures absolute confidence in all reported numbers. A daily expectation of the job is the active use of AI copilots and agents for discovery, construction, testing, and documentation to accelerate delivery while keeping human accountability for final production decisions.
This position suits a data professional experienced in crossing functional boundaries to collaborate with product owners, data experts, engineers, and field users. Responsibilities include building Tableau Next and Data 360 calculated insights, writing SQL and SOQL, validating data quality, and conducting working sessions to train field users. The work focuses on improving cycle time and cost-to-outcome, automating quality gates, and verifying every metric prior to executive readouts.
Responsibilities
- Manage metrics, dimensions, and refresh SLAs for Channel Insights alongside the CDP product owner and data expert
- Develop calculated insights using Tableau Next and Data 360 while writing necessary SQL and SOQL
- Partner with modelers and engineers to validate data quality and resolve breaks at the source
- Conduct working sessions to train field users on the analytics platform
- Utilize AI tools to draft SQL, datasets, and insight narratives while human-verifying all figures before executive presentations
- Automate trustworthy anomaly commentary for Channel Insights and escalate false positives
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience as an analytics engineer or BI lead
- Expert-level proficiency in Tableau or an equivalent BI platform
- Demonstrated ability to communicate data narratives effectively to executive and field leaders
- Practical experience incorporating AI copilots and agents into analytics delivery alongside human verification
