Job Description

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain BMS application and control software models utilizing MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
• Produce production-quality embedded code from Simulink models through automatic code generation workflows
• Conduct model reviews, quality checks, and verification activities including MIL, SIL, and PIL testing
• Create test cases, test scenarios, harnesses, and automated scripts via Simulink Test Manager
• Perform requirement-based, regression, functional, boundary-value, and robustness testing
• Analyze test outcomes, isolate defects, execute root-cause analysis, and track issues to resolution
• Interpret and analyze software requirements, maintaining traceability with tools like IBM DOORS
• Run static code analysis using Polyspace or Parasoft alongside Simulink Check for model compliance
• Build automation scripts and utilities utilizing MATLAB M-Scripting and Python

Requirements

• Between 5 and 10 years of professional experience
• Hands-on expertise with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Simulink Test Manager, and Simulink Check
• Understanding of model-based development and automatic code generation
• Knowledge of Battery Management System architecture, cell monitoring, SOC and SOH estimation, balancing, charge control, and protection mechanisms
• Experience with verification and validation methodologies including MIL, SIL, PIL, and test automation
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS and static analysis tools like Polyspace or Parasoft
• Proficiency in MATLAB M-Scripting and Python programming

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering field
• Familiarity with Embedded Coder and production code generation
• Background in automotive BMS, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, or energy storage BESS applications
• Understanding of CAN or CAN FD protocols and automotive communication standards
• Experience with HIL testing and real-time simulation platforms
• Familiarity with functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and AUTOSAR concepts
• Experience with continuous integration pipelines and Git version control systems
• Knowledge of battery characterization, testing, and modeling
