Bosch seeks a Vehicle Systems Integration Specialist for an on-site position in Bengaluru to handle mechanical design, prototyping, and vehicle integration tasks. This role involves creating 3D models and manufacturing-ready 2D drawings while navigating packaging limits and spatial constraints across vehicle compartments like the engine bay, cabin, and boot space. The professional will design brackets and custom mounting hardware capable of enduring automotive vibrations and thermal cycles, utilizing knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, stamping, laser cutting, and additive manufacturing. Duties also include collaborating with vendors for rapid prototyping, issuing work instructions to technicians, and translating electrical schematics into harness preparation guidelines.

This position is suited for engineering professionals with a solid background in mechanical product design, automotive hardware integration, and CAD tools. Bosch operates as an automotive and technology supplier. • Analyze packaging limits, clearance thresholds, and ergonomic factors within vehicle compartments
  • Develop, prototype, and release sheet metal, machined, and additive manufactured brackets for hardware mounting
  • Translate sensor and data acquisition integration requirements into mechanical mounting specifications
  • Select appropriate fasteners and joint techniques for automotive sheet metal and machined parts
  • Interpret electrical schematics and formulate harness preparation instructions
  • Collaborate with local vendors for rapid prototyping of plastic, metal, and machined parts
  • Provide work instructions and guide technicians during vehicle component integration

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles applied to product design
  • Knowledge of failure mechanisms and mitigation strategies for metallic and polymer materials
  • Proficiency in at least one CAD tool such as NX, Creo, ProE, CATIA, or SolidWorks
  • Practical experience integrating mechanical components directly onto vehicles
  • Experience coordinating with teams for vehicle electrical integration
  • Competence in designing and developing sheet metal parts, machined components, and custom mounts
  • Ability to generate flat pattern views for sheet metal fabrication
  • Knowledge of international design standards for dimensions and tolerances on fastener joints and hydraulic connections
  • Familiarity with cable management and routing concepts for automotive wire harnesses

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
  • Ability to identify automotive electrical power and signal connections to safely tap into stock networks
  • Skill in verifying pinouts, connector interfaces, and performing electrical continuity checks
