This is a full-time, on-site analytics role titled Senior Data Analyst, though the body of the posting describes it as a senior business analyst for go-to-market teams. The analyst advises Sales, Marketing, Channel and Renewals leaders as a trusted adviser, and bridges those groups and the technical Business Intelligence team.
The work centers on deep-dive analysis of business problems and presenting the findings to senior stakeholders. The analyst turns loosely defined questions into testable hypotheses, draws on complex data from several sources, and builds dashboards and custom reports that track key metrics and help teammates work with data independently. The role is expected to reach sound, data-backed conclusions even when information is incomplete.
Other responsibilities include pulling and combining data into a clear, usable format for decisions, and reviewing business process flows to find automation opportunities. This can involve data applications, workflow triggers and alerts, and enhancements to business applications.
Candidates need a degree in computer science, statistics or business, or a close equivalent, and five years of hands-on work in business analysis, consulting or big-data analysis. Strong quantitative skills, the ability to write clear technical specifications, and a track record of making recommendations that shape decisions are expected. Experience in SaaS is a bonus, and familiarity with a modern BI stack, Salesforce and go-to-market tools, and SQL or Python is valued.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted adviser to Sales, Marketing, Channel and Renewals
- Carry out deep-dive studies and brief senior stakeholders on the results
- Turn business questions into hypotheses using multi-source data
- Create dashboards and bespoke reports that monitor important KPIs
- Gather and merge data from several sources into actionable formats
- Automate handoffs with data apps, workflow triggers, and alerts plus upgrades to business apps
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, statistics or business, or a close equivalent
- Five years of hands-on work in business analysis, consulting or big-data analysis
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills, including root cause analysis and building business cases
- Ability to turn loosely defined business questions into clear technical or data specifications
- Experience defining requirements and drawing insights from metrics
- Track record of advising decision makers and shaping their choices
- Excellent verbal and written communication with business and technical audiences
Qualifications
- Experience working directly in SaaS (a bonus)
- Prior work with sales, marketing, channel or renewal groups
- Comfort with BI platforms like dbt, Looker, Sigma, Snowflake, Tableau or Alteryx
- Microsoft Office or Google Suite skills
- Familiarity with Salesforce or go-to-market tools such as Gainsight, Clari, HubSpot or Marketo
- SQL and/or Python
