The organization is seeking a Senior Engineer - Commissioning to oversee testing, planning, coordination, and execution procedures for mission-critical data center projects. This position suits individuals comfortable navigating fast-paced construction settings while focusing closely on safety, schedules, and operational readiness.
The person in this role will collaborate closely with general contractors, trade partners, equipment vendors, design groups, commissioning agents, and internal operations staff. Daily duties span from creating company-wide commissioning benchmarks and reviewing project submittals to observing factory testing, facilitating site acceptance checks, and managing the resolution of any technical issues.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Commissioning to establish corporate commissioning standards for future initiatives
- Participate in creating individual project commissioning plans and maintain associated logs, issue lists, deficiency reports, and turnover records
- Direct and oversee commissioning phases ranging from Level 1 up to Level 5 across project lifecycles
- Align scheduling milestones with project managers, vendors, contractors, and commissioning agents
- Oversee the delivery timelines of owner-furnished, contractor-installed equipment
- Evaluate commissioning scripts, design documents, equipment submittals, and sequences of operation
- Attend factory witness tests and facilitate site acceptance evaluations for all hardware
- Confirm the proper installation, startup, and pre-energization procedures for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and safety systems
- Lead functional performance evaluations on generators, switchgear, UPS units, chillers, CRAHs, CRACs, and building management platforms
- Coordinate integrated system testing, training sessions, operational documentation reviews, and final facility handovers
Requirements
- Three to five years of hands-on commissioning experience within mission-critical or data center facilities
- Demonstrated familiarity with electrical distribution networks, backup generators, transfer switches, uninterruptible power supplies, and cooling systems
- Working knowledge of building management platforms, electrical power monitoring tools, and integrated controls
- Capability to review complex mechanical, electrical, and control system drawings
- Willingness to undertake domestic travel throughout the US and Canada
- Possession of a valid driver license and dependable transportation
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or an equivalent technical field
- Certified Commissioning Professional credential
- Certified Commissioning Authority designation
- ASHRAE Commissioning Professional certification
- Data Center Certified Associate or relevant mission-critical training
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety credential
- Certified Building Commissioning Professional title
