Pavago is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer for a client building a tax filing platform from scratch. This full-time, remote position operates on U.S. client business hours, requiring flexibility for deployments, sprint reviews, and production support. The role involves leading the technical direction, backend services, frontend user experience, and overall architecture of a mission-critical platform where reliability, security, and precision are vital.
The engineer will use AI-assisted tools like Claude Code and Cursor to boost productivity while upholding rigorous engineering and code quality standards. Daily tasks include designing scalable service boundaries, developing secure REST APIs with FastAPI, building responsive frontend components, and writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade web applications from architecture to production
- Develop secure backend services and REST APIs utilizing Python and FastAPI
- Build responsive frontend interfaces and reusable UI components for complex workflows and dashboards
- Incorporate AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Claude Code throughout the entire software lifecycle
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Implement strict validation, robust error handling, and secure authentication and authorization practices
- Collaborate across distributed teams with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineers during sprint planning and code reviews
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional full stack software engineering experience
- Demonstrated expertise with Python, FastAPI, and REST API development
- Hands-on background building production applications and working with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code
- Working familiarity with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases and Git version control
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work during U.S. client business hours with flexibility for sprint reviews and production support
Qualifications
- Background working in FinTech, tax software, compliance platforms, or financial systems
- Experience constructing highly secure applications and designing scalable software architectures
- Familiarity with asynchronous collaboration inside distributed engineering teams
